The project we are planning to develop focuses on wine landscape of El Puerto de Santa María, a city located in the south of Spain, Cadiz.
We strongly believe that understanding the evolution of the city as a system will provide a comprehensive view that will allow us to obtain, not only a new architectural interpretation, but also social, cultural and economic dimensions.
In this way we will be able to understand how the phenomenon of the industrial wine cellar heritage has affected the urban history of the city and vice versa.
This problem is related to other processes that have been experienced by cities neighboring El Puerto de Santa Maria, where the value of winemaking industry is not being understood in all its scales and limits.
We consider that research on the wine cellar phenomenon of the urban history of the city will allow us to generate, through thorough analyses, extrapolable management models.
This research also focus on the recovery of these areas and their urban planning. It is very important for us to analyze and detect the problems in the area to develop solutions and proposals.
