Cuba-Estados Unidos: la escenificación de la diplomacia y el orden

Abstract

El restablecimiento de las relaciones diplomáticas entre Estados Unidos y Cuba ha sido escenificado de manera constante desde que el 17 de diciembre de 2014, los líderes de ambos países anunciaran el inicio del proceso. El acto final de la obra teatral, en cambio, se produjo el 21 de marzo del 2016, con la llegada de Obama a La Habana. A lo largo del proceso de normalización, la diplomacia estatocéntrica ha servido para gestionar el extrañamiento entre las partes, produciendo y reproduciendo, a su vez, nuevos extrañamientos. De esta manera, se ha escenificado un orden concreto, excluyendo y ocultando toda relación diplomática que pudiera causar incertidumbre y desorden, desplazando, en última instancia, hacia los márgenes a los individuos.

The restoration of the diplomatic relations between the United States and Cuba has been staged constantly since December 17, 2014 the leaders of both countries announced the beginning of the process. The final act of the play, however, it has happened on 21st March 2016, with the arrival of Obama to Habana. Throughout the process of normalization, the estatocentric diplomacy managed the estrangement between the parties, producing and reproducing, at the same time, the new strangeness. In this way, it has been staged a particular order, excluding and hiding any diplomatic relationship that may cause uncertainty and disorder, displacing individuals towards the margins, as a last resort.
