Abstract
[EN] The Spanish translation of Jack Popplewell's Busybody, Vengan corriendo que les tengo un muerto, proved to be the most extreme case of a translation strategy (deletion) identified in a corpus of 100 versions of plays originally written in English and translated into Spanish. The comparison of Popplewell's original and its Spanish version uncovers subtle processes of transference and manipulation and has been carried out using a minimal dramatic unit (réplica) which is posited and used for pairing and comparing target and source text.
