La cultura académica frente a la cultura audiovisual

Abstract

The exponential growth of audiovisual production through the media (Information Technologies), is invading the field of knowledge and culture in our society. This joint, encloses important social and political changes, which compells us to reflect on both the functions of school systems and curriculum as cultural recreation. In this paper we discuss about the complex relation between the school and its environment of audiovisual contents and symbols. For this task it is necessary to review the concept of culture; it is certainly a key point in that relationship. Our hypothesis is that the process of curriculum design and development, they must be founded on thi new cultural reality, in order not to increase the social and cultural difference.; El crecimiento exponencial de la producción audiovisual a través de los media (Tecnologías de la Información), invade el terreno del saber y de la cultura en nuestra sociedad. Esta coyuntura, que genera importantes cambios sociales y politicos, obliga a replantear tanto las funciones de la institución escolar como del curriculum en tanto que recreación cultural. Para esta tarea es imprescindible revisar el concepto de cultura, pues adquiere un carácter nuclear en esa relación. Nuestra hipótesis es que el diseño y desarrollo del curriculum debe fundarse en esta nueva realidad cultural para no aumentar las diferencias sociales y culturales.
