Sistemas Cu-PDC como precursores de bio-MOFs: síntesis, caracterización y estudio bibliográfico

[ES] La Ciencia de Materiales se dedica a la creación y mejora de materiales, en una búsqueda constante en la que desea obtener materiales multifuncionales y respetuosos con el medioambiente. De esta forma, los SCFs (Solid Coordination Framework) y los MOFs (Metal Organic Framework) resultan ser compuestos de coordinación sólidos muy interesantes, debido a sus excepcionales características, como los poros que pueden presentar sus estructuras internas. Esta característica, en particular, aporta potencial para diversas aplicaciones, como la adsorción de gases de efecto invernadero, la catálisis heterogénea, el almacenamiento de energía o incluso el suministro controlado de fármacos. Por otra parte, cuando se usan ligandos de origen biológico se pueden obtener bio-SCFs y bio-MOFs cuyas aplicaciones se extienden al área de la Medicina.
En este contexto, el objetivo original de este TFG (trabajo de fin de grado) era sintetizar compuestos de tipo bio-MOF, usando para ello nucleótidos como ligandos. Sin embargo, a causa de la alerta sanitaria provocada por la COVID-19, sólo se ha podido sintetizar un precursor: el compuesto (DMAH)2[Cu(PDC)2], (donde DMAH+ es dimetilamonio y PDC2- es piridín-2,5-dicarboxilato). Por ello, se tuvo que reorientar todo el TFG de manera que el objetivo principal queda definido de una manera más amplia como el diseño estructural, síntesis y caracterización de redes sólidas de coordinación en el marco de los valores de la economía circular.
El compuesto (DMAH)2[Cu(PDC)2] se ha caracterizado mediante las siguientes técnicas: espectroscopía infrarroja (IR), difracción de rayos X (DRX) en monocristal y análisis termogravimétrico (TG).
Este TFG se ha completado con una revisión bibliográfica sobre los compuestos en estado sólido con el ligando PDC, cuya discusión se ha centrado en los basados en CuII. Este estudio permite concluir que el aumento de temperatura asociado a las síntesis por vía solvotermal o microondas amplía enormemente el abanico de posibilidades estructurales. Asimismo, se deduce que, para la obtención de materiales con aplicaciones como la adsorción de gases, en la catálisis heterogénea
y en medicina (actividades antimicrobianas y anticancerígenas), se requiere el concurso de ligandos secundarios, como los nucleótidos que se pretendían usar originalmente para este TFG.
Además de las conclusiones anteriores, la aportación experimental principal de este TFG es haber sintetizado el precursor (DMAH)2[Cu(PDC)2] mediante la metodología de microondas.
