dc.description.abstract[EN]Although an energy imbalance over a long period seems to be the main cause of overweight/obesity, this factor is included in a complex biological system that is set within a complex societal framework in which no single influence dominates. In this context, the EHU12/24 (code of a survey from the University of theBasque Country/Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea UPV/EHU) study addresses these research needs using a university community based approach. This observational cohort study was designed to investigate the risk factors of overweight/obesity related to lifestyles, particularly those associated with diet, their psychosocial influences and the interactions among these factors, in a representative sample of the UPV/EHU student population. Anthropometric measurements, direct behavioural determinants, such as physical activity and diet, and indirect determinants, such as social/psychological factors, were considered. The results provide valuable data for analysing the complexity and multidimensionality of obesity in university students.es_ES
dc.description.abstract[EU] Nahiz eta, denboraldi luze bateko energia desoreka gainpisua/obesitatearen arrazoi nagusia dela iruditu, faktore hau sistema biologiko konplexu baten parte da eta sistema honetan ez dago menderatzen duen influentzia bakarra. Testuinguru honetan, EHU12/24 ikerketak (Euskal Herriko Unibertsitateko UPV/EHU ikerketa baten kodea) unibertsitate komunitatean oinarritutako ikuspegia erabiltzen du behar hauek aztertzeko. Behaketako kohorte ikerketa hau bizi-ohiturekin lotutako gainpisua/obesitatearen arrisku faktoreak, dietarekin erlazionaturikoak bereziki, bere eragin psikosozialak eta faktore hauen arteko interakzioa, UPV/EHU ikasle lagin adierazgarri batean aztertzeko diseinatu zen. Ikerketa honetan, neurri antropometrikoak, determinatzaileak diren jarrerak, adibidez, ariketa fisikoa eta dieta (osasun eta ingurumenaren ikuspuntuetatik), eta zeharkako jarrerak, esaterako, faktore sozio/psikologikoak kontuan hartu ziren. Emaitzek baliodun datuak ematen dituzte obesitatearen konplexutasuna eta gaixotasunaren determinatzaileen interakzioak analizatzeko unibertsitate ikasleetan.es_ES
