[ENG] The aim of this paper is to examine the different factors affecting digital engagement and digital music consumption in Spain. Using data from Survey of Cultural Habits and Practices in Spain for the years 2018-2019, we estimate an ordered probit model to study individuals’ intensity of internet access for leisure purposes and and a probit with sample selection model to characterize subscriptions to digital music platforms of digital users. Our findings indicate that the intensity of digital use is associated with being younger, highly educated and from big cities. Moreover, the results show that digital users are more likely to subscribe to digital music platforms when they are young, students and highly educated, which are the characteristics that describe the groups that show a greater interest in music. Therefore, we find evidence of the effect of the digital divide in digital music consumption in Spain.
