In the industry 5.0 era, industries are leveraging the potential of artificial intelligence in combination with innovative methods for more efficient production. In a similar approach, project management would benefit from Artificial Intelligence for achieving project goals by increasing in the project performances and consequently reaching a higher level of sustainability and success.
This thesis examines the role of artificial intelligence in project management. A systematic literature review of the applications of Artificial Intelligence techniques including Machine Learning, deep learning, neural networks, natural language processing, fuzzy approaches and heuristics methods in the project management performance domains are presented. The results show that the number of influential publications on Artificial Intelligence-enabled Project Management has increased significantly over the last decade. The results also indicate that artificial intelligence can play a considerable role in the project management of construction, IT, and other industrial sectors and serve for improving planning, measurement and uncertainty by providing techniques for forecasting, decision making and optimization.
