En torno al origen y datación del Canon 10 Comperimus quosdam Iudaeos nuper ad fidem Christi uocatos, extraído de un concilio hispalense de época visigoda

Abstract

El Excerptum Canonicum es una colección sistemática de 20 cánones incluida en la Recensión Juliana de la Hispana cronológica al final del Concilio VIII de Toledo (a. 653). Contiene siete entradas de tema judaico que incluyen un Canon 10 atribuido a un Concilio de Sevilla que se ha identificado tradicionalmente con el Concilio III de Sevilla. Este artículo trata de demostrar que el Canon 10 debe atribuirse a concilio hispalense anterior al Concilio II de Sevilla (a. 619) y fecharse hacia los años 616/7, un poco des-pués del decreto de bautismo forzoso de la población judía de Hispania promulgado por el rey Sisebuto hacia el año 615.; The Excerptum Canonicum is a systematic collection of 20 canons included in the Juliana Recension of the Hispana Canonical Collection at the end of VIII Council of Toledo (held in 653). It contains seven entries on Judaic themes including a Canon 10 attributed to a Council of Seville which has traditionally been identified with III Council of Seville. This article attempts to demonstrate that Canon 10 must be attributed to a Seville Council prior to II Council of Seville (held in 619) and dated around 616/7, shortly after the decree of forced baptism of the Jewish population of Hispania promulgated by King Sisebut around the year 615.
