Un aporte a la historia de las nomenclaturas bilingües: el vocabulario castellano-vasco de Isaac López Mendizábal (1908, 1918, 1932)

Abstract

[ES] En este trabajo se realiza un análisis de la macroestructura y la microestructura del vocabulario castellano-vasco inserto en el Manual de conversación castellano-euskera (1908) elaborado por el impresor y político guipuzcoano Isaac López Mendizábal con el objetivo de facilitar el aprendizaje del euskera. Este vocabulario bilingüe, que está ordenado de forma onomasiológica por ámbitos designativos, es un tipo de repertorio léxico habitual en los materiales de enseñanza de lenguas. Si bien no contiene grandes cambios respecto a otras nomenclaturas similares en euskera y castellano, es de interés por introducir algunos apartados poco corrientes, por la información social y etnográfica que incluyen algunas de sus entradas y por no haber sido estudiado de forma específica con anterioridad.

[EN] This paper analyses the macrostructure and microstructure of the Spanish-Basque vocabulary included in the Manual de conversación castellano-euskera (1908) written by the Guipuzcoan printer and politician Isaac López Mendizábal with the aim of facilitating the learning of the Basque language. This bilingual vocabulary, which is arranged onomasiologically by designative fields, is a type of lexical repertoire that is common in language teaching materials. Although it does not contain major changes with respect to other similar nomenclatures in Basque and Spanish, it is of interest because it introduces some unusual sections, because of the social and ethnographic information included in some of its entries and because it has not been studied specifically before.
