Big Data y Psicopolítica. Vía de escape: de la vida calculable a la vida como obra de arte

Abstract

[ES]El Big Data es un elemento fundamental para la constitución de eso que autores como Byung-Chul Han denominan “psicopolítica”. Según Han, la sociedad en que vivimos tiene dos fundamentales características que se complementan entre sí: la nuestra es una “sociedad de la transparencia” y también una “sociedad digital”. Estas dos características tienen negativas consecuencias para el hombre. Siguiendo a Foucault y Deleuze, Han considera que el ser humano será capaz de escapar de la esclavitud impuesta por él mismo si logra transformar el peso cualitativo de sus acciones. Es decir, si consigue que éstas, en lugar de ser perfectamente predecibles y calculables, pasen a ser acontecimientos, en el pleno sentido de esta palabra: creaciones impredecibles que contribuyan, en términos nietzscheanos, a su autosuperación y, por ende, a hacer de su vida una obra de arte.

[EN]The Big Data is a fundamental element for the constitution of what authors like Byung-Chul Han call “psychopolitics”. Han says that the society in which we live has two fundamental characteristics that complement each other: ours is a “society of transparency” and also a “digital society”. These two features have dire consequences for the man who lives there. Following Foucault and Deleuze, Han considers that the human being will be able to escape the slavery imposed by itself if it manages to transform the qualitative weight of its actions. That is, if it achieves that its actions, instead of being perfectly predictable and calculable, become events in the full sense of the word: unpredictable creations that contribute in Nietzschean terms, to its self-improvement and, therefore, to make of its life a work of art.
