dc.description.abstract[EN]One of the most effective ways to increase efficiency of construction industry is to improve planning and control process. Nowadays, programming is used in almost any area, but also in constructions field to solve problems such as optimizing use of resources or determining most economic product mix. The construction industry is one of the largest industries in the world. In fact, one of Europe’s largest employers are construction companies. The impact of costs on construction outcomes is hard to measure, but crucial for developing accurate models. Solutions need to be found, especially providing efficient instruments for engineers in order to track the reliability of constructions. Such a tool is the “Prontuario Informático de la Madera Estructural” (PIME) which was created to help making the design and calculation of wood structures. The application simulates the pre-dimensioning of structures, or verifies the existent projects and drafts.es_ES
