Abstract

[EN] This paper analyzes the model of marriage that implied the arrival of Islam and the two different marriage systems that coexist in the context of the Islamic world. Therefore, the work will compare the different matrimonial practices of two different societies. First, monogamy is analyzed and it is explained that Christianity adopted the monogamous system from the Greek and eromatic model. Subsequently, the marriage system proposed by Islam through the Koran and the Legal Schools will be deepened, as will the special circumstances that polygamy and polygyny allow. It follows, however, that both systems have a fixed institutional and legal character and that a matrimonial model has the capacity to organise a society
