Edadismo y desigualdad de género en la profesión periodística. Un desencuentro con las nuevas competencias digitales

Abstract
Las aplicaciones sociales y las nuevas narrativas en el periodismo digital han revolucionado no solo la forma en la que se ejerce la profesión, sino la manera en la que los consumidores acceden a la información. Cuatro diferentes generaciones de periodistas de diferentes medios de comunicación del País Vasco han contestado a un cuestionario sobre el uso que hacen de las principales herramientas sociales como son Twitter, Facebook, Instagram y LinkedIn. También han respondido al grado de importancia que le dan a las nuevas narrativas y a la visualización de datos que tanto ayuda a la hora de contar historias. Los resultados de más de 500 encuestas muestran una gran brecha generacional y de género entre los profesionales más jóvenes y las periodistas de edades más avanzadas. Destacan los usos de estas herramientas por parte de las profesionales mayores de 60 años con unas rutinas más reacias a su desarrollo digital. El infra uso de algunas aplicaciones como Telegram o LinkedIn indica un gran desconocimiento y una falta de formación por parte de las editoriales. Quienes ejercen la profesión periodística y son menores de 30 años conocen herramientas como Tik Tok, Twitch, o incluso, aplicaciones de IA, pero desconocen su uso profesional
