Resumen
In today's digitalized society, computational thinking has become an essential competence for solving everyday problems. In the same way, programming emerges with great potential for the development of such a competence. Therefore, there is an urgent need to include code literacy in the initial training of future teachers. In this study, we intend to assess the Scratch-based experimentation carried out with the students of the Primary Education Degree at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU). Furthermore, the students’ perceptions related both to the possibilities of use offered by Scratch for the development of computational thinking skills and attitudes and to use expectations of this programming language in their professional future have been collected. The results indicate that students consider Scratch's relationship with the teaching of programming to be evident. The experience has received positive feedback by the students who, in turn, indicate that Scratch can be useful for the development of computational thinking processes in the Primary Education classroom, adding that they will include it in their professional future as teachers
