La compañía Mengemor y el suministro de electricidad en la Andalucía nacional durante la Guerra Civil Española (1936-1939)

Abstract

This article analyses the activity of the main Andalusian electricity companies- in particular The Mengemor company- and the government in Burgos to ensure the production and supply of electricity during the Spanish civil war, especially in those industries considered to be of strategic importance. To this end the following factors are examined: 1. The evolution of the regional electricity grid from the end of 1910 to 1935; 2. The organisations that played a role in the electricity sector and the work they undertook; 3. The amount of electricity interchanged between companies.; Este artículo analiza cómo actuaron las grandes eléctricas andaluzas-especialmentela Mengemor nacional- y el Gobierno de Burgos para asegurar la producción y el suministro de electricidad durante la Guerra Civil, sobre todo el de las industrias consideradas estratégicas. Para ello se estudian los siguientes aspectos: 1. La evolución de la red eléctrica regional desde finales de los años 1910 hasta 1935; 2. Los organismos que intervinieron en el sector eléctrico y la labor que realizaron; 3. La cuantía de los intercambios de fluido entre las empresas.
