El Monumento al Centenario de Donostia-San Sebastián (1913-1924)

Abstract

The article narrates the construction process of what is known as the Monument to the Centenary of Donostia-San Sebastián. It analyses the different projects submitted to the public competition and the construction process of the winner. Erected very quickly, it was highly criticised from the start and this led to its dismantling in 1924. The resulting pieces were distributed throughout different areas and spaces in the capital of Gipuzkoa.; El artículo narra el proceso constructivo del conocido como Monumento al Centenario de Donostia-San Sebastián. Se analizan los distintos proyectos presentados al concurso público y el proceso constructivo del ganador. Erigido con gran rapidez, fue muy criticado desde el comienzo y ello provocó su despiece en 1924. Las piezas resultantes se repartieron por distintas zonas y espacios de la capital guipuzcoana.; Artikuluak Donostiako Mendeurrenaren Monumentuaren eraikuntza-prozesua kontatzen du. Piezak Gipuzkoako hiriburuko hainbat gune eta espaziotan banatu ziren.
