La promoción escolar de los jándalos en Cantabria

Of great importance to the process of education of the population was promoting stable-foundation school in many Spanish regions -including the current Cantabria- by emigrants to America who managed to make a fortune on that continent. These endowed their birthplaces of schools, and, on occasion, other charitable institutions.But also worth mentioning in the case of Cantabria school promotions of those emigrants enriched their business in Andalusia (either migrated directly to that region or settled there on his return to Spain after passing first in America).Walk the article the schools promoted in Cantabria by these so-called Habi-rently "jándalos" from the seventeenth century to the twentieth century; providing both data from its ori-gene and subsequent operation and its architecture.; De gran importancia para el proceso de instrucción de la población fue la promoción de establecimientos escolares en numerosas regiones españolas -incluida la actual Cantabria- por parte de emigrantes a América que lograron hacer fortuna en aquel continente. Estos dotaban a sus lugares de nacimiento de escuelas, además de -en ocasiones- otros establecimientos benéficos.Pero también merecen destacarse en el caso concreto de Cantabria las promociones escolares de aquellos emigrantes enriquecidos con sus negocios en Andalucía (bien emigrados directamente a esa región o asentados allí a su regreso a España tras su paso primero por América).Recorre el artículo las instituciones escolares promovidas en Cantabria por estos llamados habitualmente “jándalos”, desde el siglo XVII hasta el siglo XX; aportando tanto los datos de su origen y posterior funcionamiento como de su arquitectura.
