Resistir ‘la calamidad’: arte, comunidad y ficción especulativa

Abstract

Successive crises have repercussions at all levels of the social structure. Through speculative fiction, this writing dialogues with the actions that Lauren, the protagonist of the novel Parable of the sower, generates as a response to the difficulties she is going through in her world. All the adversities she faces are extreme consequences derived from a neoliberal capitalist system named by Octavia Butler as "the cala-mity". As a result of this reading, different currents of thought and procedures are related with the aim of reflecting on the possibilities of the artist’s work in relation to community interventions and the increasingly conscious ‘crisis of care in a hopeful framework that resists in a possible future.; Las sucesivas crisis repercuten a todos los niveles de la estructura social. A través de la ficción especulativa este escrito dialoga con las acciones que Lauren, protagonista de la novela La parábola del sembrador, genera como respuesta a las dificultades que está atravesando en su mundo. Todas las adversidades a las que se enfrenta son consecuencias extremas derivadas de un sistema capitalista neoliberal denominado por Octavia Butler como "la calamidad". Resultado de esta lectura, se relacionan diferentes corrientes de pensamiento y procedimientos con el objetivo de reflexionar sobre las posibilidades de trabajo del artista en relación a las intervenciones comunitarias y a la cada vez más consciente crisis de cuidados’ en un marco esperanzador que resiste en un futuro posible.
