En un tiempo marcado por la urgencia. Formas de un arte necesario

Abstract

[ES] La situación generada por la actual crisis ha hecho imperativo cuestionarse las formas de operar aprendidas, aspectos intangibles que, interiorizados, habían terminado por parecer imprescindibles. Ante ellos, una serie de nuevos fenómenos ha ido abriéndose paso, con diferentes niveles de repercusión. En este sentido, asistimos en el presente a un proceso de revitalización de la performance, a la que se han unido en los últimos años una serie de propuestas postperformativas, de modo que a la importancia de la acción vivida, se suma la reconfiguración provista por el/la artista, el acontecimiento reordenado y filtrado por sus decisiones, despliegues y formulaciones que hacen que cuestionemos nuestra relación con la realidad. Por otro lado, el/la artista busca de nuevo ubicarse en la calle, pero ya no camina solo/a, sino que su actividad es una invitación para un tipo de encuentro significativo, que trata de afectar a la audiencia en su sentir y pensar. Finalmente, la necesidad de reinventar y redefinir la actividad artística, poner al día sus dinámicas, mantener y proteger sus objetivos, permanence como requerimiento al que los y las artistas responden. En conclusión, tanto desde posicionamientos individuales, como desde diversas estructuras grupales, se está realizando una labor de gran importancia, abriendo debates en los que es nuestra responsabilidad participar y que -desde nuestras diferentes posiciones- debemos apoyar y fortalecer.

[ENG] The situation created by the actual crisis has made it imperative to question learned ways of operating, those intangible aspects that, internalized, had come to seem indispensable. Considering them, some new phenomena have been emerging, with different levels of impact. In this sense, we witness nowadays a process in which a large number of postperformative proposals has joined to the important dimension recovered by the practice of performance, so that, together with live action, it has appeared a kind of activity in which what the viewer gets is a reconfiguration provided by the artist, through whom the original event -rearranged by his or her decisions- is filtered, displays and formulations that make us reconsider our relationship to reality. On the other hand, under the present conditions the artist seeks again to place him/herself in the street, but no longer walking alone. His/her activity is an invitation for a kind of significant meeting, which tries to affect the audience’s feelings and thoughts. At the same time, reinventing and redefining their activity, updating its dynamics, maintaining and protecting its goals... are still there as needs and requirements that the practice of art involves, and to which the artists must constantly respond to. In conclusion, both from individual positions and from collective structures, a very important work is being made, opening debates that demand our participation; initiatives that we must all -from our different positions- contribute to support and strengthen.
