Factores que distinguen y explican el rendimiento académico diferencial de alumnos repetidores y alumnos cuya edad escolar coincide con su edad cronológica

Abstract

La finalidad de la presente investigación es establecer la existencia de toda una serie de factores diferenciales entre alumnos repetidores y no repetidores que puedan ser explicativos del diferente rendimiento académico de unos y otros. Hacemos especial hincapié en los factores psicosociales relativos a la percepción que el alumno posee de su ambiente familiar, escolar y social, sin olvidar factores de tipo personal tales como la inteligencia y el autoconcepto. Para ello mediante las técnicas de análisis discriminante y de regresión múltiple establecemos, en primer lugar, los factores que discriminan más y mejor la pertenencia a uno u otro grupo de alumnos y, en segundo lugar, establecemos las ecuaciones de regresión que nos permiten pronosticar con un cierto margen de confianza el rendimiento académico de los alumnos en virtud de su pertenencia a uno u otro grupo.; The purpose of this investigation is to establish the existence of a series of differential factors between repeating pupils and non-repeating pupils which may account for the different academic achievement of both groups. We have paid especial attention to psychological factors which have to do with the student¿s perception of his/her family, school and social environment but have not forgotten factors of personal type such as intelligence and self-concept. First of all, we have established the factors which discriminate more effectively the inclusion of the students in one group or the other by means of techniques of discriminant analysis and multiple regression analysis and, in the second place we have established the regression equations which allow us to predict with a certain margin of confidence the academic achievement of the pupils depending on their placing in one group or the other.
