Autoidentificación nacional y actitudes hacia el euskera

Abstract

The aim of this research is to continue the investigation on the process of the national identity development. In previous studies, we have faced the subject of how the school linguistic model influences the process of the national identity development, but now, we have wanted to go forward on this subject. Therefore, the present work deals with the analysis of the relationships between the national autoidentiy of the individuals and their attitudes toward the basque language. This is done by making several questions to 137 inhabitans from the Mixed Area of the Foral Autonomic Community of Navarra (Spain). These are some of the questions they had to answer: "Do you like to speak basque language?", "do you like the basque language subject?", "do you speak basque with your friends?", "do you speak basque outdoors?"" "do you speak basque at home?".; El propósito de este trabajo es seguir indagando en el proceso de desarrollo de la identidad nacional. Una vez analizada en publicaciones anteriores la influencia del modelo lingüístico de escolarización en el proceso de formación de la identidad nacional, en este momento pretendemos avanzar otro paso más y centramos el objeto de estudio en el análisis de la relación existente entre la autoidentificación nacional y las actitudes mostradas hacia el euskera. Para ello, se plantearon a 137 sujetos de la zona Mixta de la Comunidad Foral Navarra que se habían autocategorizado como españoles, navarros, vascos o de su localidad, tres tipos de cuestiones, desde una muy genérica: "¿te gusta hablar euskera?"" pasando por "¿te gusta la asignatura de euskera?" a otras más concretas como "¿hablas euskera con tus amigos?", "¿hablas euskera en la calle?" y "¿hablas euskera en casa?".
