La Fototeca del Laboratorio de Arte de la Universidad de Sevilla: Un fondo fotográfico pionero en España

Abstract

La Fototeca del Laboratorio de Arte es un Servicio General de Investigación, dependiente del Centro de Investigación Tecnología e Innovación de la Universidad de Sevilla (CITIUS), que con-tiene un fondo documental constituido por varios cientos de miles de fotografías históricas de un valor incalculable. A través de sus fondos y colecciones se puede desarrollar un interesante viaje por el devenir histórico del patrimonio artístico de Andalucía, España y buena parte de Europa y América a lo largo de la segunda mitad del siglo XIX y XX. Sin duda, la multiplicidad de proce-dimientos fotográficos que conserva, el alto volumen de negativos y positivos de diverso formato y soporte que custodia y la riqueza temática que lo caracteriza, hacen de este archivo fotográfico de la Universidad de Sevilla una fuente informativa primordial para el estudio de la Historia del Arte.; The Fototeca-Laboratorio de Arte is a General Research Service which is part of the Technology and Innovation Research Center of the University of Seville (CITIUS) that contains a documentary collection made up of several hundred thousand historical photographs of incalculable value. Through its funds and collections, it is posible to develop an interesting journey about the historical evolution of the artistic heritage of Andalusia, Spain and a high proportion of Europe and America throughout the second half of the nineteenth and twentieth century. Undoubtedly, the multiplicity of photographic procedures which thati it conserves, the high volume of negative and positive of diverse format and support that it keep and the thematic richness that characterizes it, make this photographic archive of the University of Seville a primordial source of graphic information for the study of the History of the Art.
