Josep Climent, educador total

Abstract

The Enlightenment scholars -Spanish and European- will not be surprised by the figure of Josep Climent, from the circle of the Valencian Mayans, a universal scholar, but not to the majority of readers -even from historical publications to educational sciences-. Precisely the present approach to the person of Dr. Climent does not intend anything other than to familiarize the character with anyone with sensitivity around issues of the world of education: professor of Philosophy Tomista of the University of Valencia, magisterial canon and bishop of Barcelona, at the end of his days it was signified by a total dedication and an exemplary commitment towards popular education.; A los estudiosos de la Ilustración –española y europea- no les será extraña la figura de Josep Climent, del círculo del valenciano Mayans, erudito universal, pero no así a la mayoría de lectores –incluso de publicaciones históricas hasta de ciencias de la educación-. Justamente la presente aproximación a la persona del Dr. Climent no pretende otra cosa que familiarizar al personaje con cualquiera con sensibilidad en torno a temas del mundo de la educación: catedrático de Filosofia Tomista de la Universitat de València, canónigo magistral y obispo de Barcelona, al final de sus días, se significó por una dedicación total y un compromiso ejemplar hacia la educación popular.
