Boxer Kodexa: Ekialde Urruneko errealitate historikoa XVI. mende amaierako eskuizkribu baten bidez

Abstract

[EUS] Mendeetan haren berri izan gabe eta zenbait urtetan arreta handirik jaso gabe egon ondoren, ezohiko kodex bat agertu da Filipinetako eta Hego-ekialdeko Asiako historiografian. Boxer Kodexa delakoa, balio etnografiko handiko kontakizun eta irudiei esker, XVI. mende amaierako errealitate historikoa ezagutzeko iturri emankor gisa goratzen da. Hala ere, material historiko bezala erabiltzea zalantzan jarri da. Gradu Amaierako Lan (GrAL) honen bidez, eskuizkribua bere testuinguruan kokatu, azken aldian mundu akademikoan izan duen eragina aztertu, eta, azken buruan, dokumentu-iturri gisa erabil daitekeen egiaztatu nahi dugu.

[EN] After centuries without knowing its existence and years of being neglected, an unusual codex has appeared in Philippine and Southeast Asian historiography. The so-called Boxer Codex, thanks to narrations and images of great ethnographic value, rises as a prolific source of knowledge of the historical reality of the late 16th century. However, its use as historical material has been questioned. With this Bachelor’s Thesis (GrAL) it is intended to contextualize the manuscript, analyze its recent impact in the academic world and, ultimately, check if it can be used as a documentary source.
