La escuela de Castrillo de Valdelomar en Valderredible

Abstract

En Valderredible, la educación primaria en el siglo XVIII era escasa, con algunas escuelas benéficas, pero la Constitución de 1812 y la Ley de Instrucción Primaria de 1838 intentaron ampliarla. Aunque se mejoró la alfabetización desde 1912, el trabajo infantil y la idiosincrasia rural limitaron la asistencia. Durante la Dictadura de Primo de Ribera se crearon trece escuelas, pero la red republicana se redujo drásticamente en Valderredible. La musealización de la antigua escuela de Castrillo de Valdelomar destaca la importancia de la educación rural, honrando la labor de maestros y comunidad.
