Transformaciones agropecuarias en Guipúzcoa durante los siglos XVI y XVII

Abstract

[ES] Esta investigación pretende describir las transformaciones producidas durante los siglos XVI y XVII en el sector agrícola del área cantábrica vasca, centrándose principalmente en el territorio guipuzcoano: introducción de nuevos cultivos –sobre todo, la aparición y expansión del maíz–, propiedad de la tierra, la evolución de los precios, etc. Se hará lo propio con el sector ganadero, también con un espíritu comparativo: peso específico de las diferentes cabañas ganaderas, transformaciones en el régimen de propiedad, posesión y explotación, sistemas pecuarios, etc.

[EN] The aim of this article is to deepen into the changes took place in the Basque Country during the 16th and the 17th centuries, not only in agriculture but also in stockbreeding. On the one hand, it will be describe the transformations suffered undergone by farming activity among the Basque Country, focused on the Guipuzcoan land: the introduction of new crops –above all, the expansion of maize–, the land’s property, the evolution of prices, and so on. On the other hand, it will be analyse what changes happened in stockbreeding, also making a comparative analysis: changes in property, posesion and exploitation system or the importance of each kind of livestock.
