dc.description.abstractThis paper shows a new wheel-rail contact model specially suited to obtain wear indexes between wheel and rail when the vehicle negotiates tight curves. The model presented in the paper enables introduction of the two contact point situation using three-dimensional analysis of surfaces including the influence of the angle of attack. The proposed model is based on the generation of look-up tables that are used during the dynamic simulation of the vehicle.es
