Reconductoring with high temperature low sag (HTLS) conductors is an alternative to the traditional uprating methods. The obtained rating increase depends on the mechanical and thermal behaviour of the conductor. In this paper, the HTLS conductors are presented and mechanical calculation methods are analyzed taking into account the special characteristics of these conductors. The widely used graphical method and the recently developed STOC method have been analyzed.es
