Los anuncios del coro en la comedia de Aristófanes
Emerita 65(2) : 287-302 (1997)
Abstract
The entrances and exits of characters in Aristophanes' plays have been almost completely
neglected by modern scholarship. This article is devoted to one particular element related to
this aspect of dramatic technique: the entrance announcement. It do not study all announcements,
but centre on those which are made by the chorus. These announcements are rare in
Aristophanes: only 9 entrances are announced by the chorus, while 59 are announced by characters.
The authoress selects the announcements by the former and study their form (metre,
length, language), their content and the parts of comedy in which they occur, in order to assess
the way in which Aristophanes uses them.
