Historia política del País Vasco en el siglo XX a través del cine documental: tres perspectivas sobre la historia de ETA

Abstract

[ES] El objetivo de este trabajo es analizar la relación entre el cine y la historia, aplicándola a un espacio temporal y geográfico concreto: el País Vasco durante el periodo activo de la banda terrorista ETA. Tras presentar brevemente la metodología y el contexto histórico, nos centraremos en el análisis del cine documental sobre ETA, a través de tres documentales con diferentes perspectivas: La Pelota vasca: la piel contra la piedra (2003) de Julio Medem; Trece entre mil (2005) de Iñaki Arteta; y Asier ETA biok (2013) de Aitor y Amaia Merino. Todos ellos tratan el mismo tema, pero lo hacen de forma diferente. De este modo, podremos tener una visión clara de la influencia de la cinematografía, y en particular del documental, en la forma de narrar la historia.

[EN] The aim of this paper is to analyze the relationship between cinema and history, applying it to a specific temporal and geographical space: the Basque Country during the active period of the terrorist group ETA. After briefly presenting the methodology and historical context, we will focus on the analysis of documentary cinema about ETA, through three documentaries with different perspectives: La Pelota vasca: la piel contra la piedra (2003) by Julio Medem; Trece entre mil (2005) by Iñaki Arteta; and Asier ETA biok (2013) by Aitor and Amaia Merino. All of them deal with the same subject, but they do it in a different way. In this way, we will be able to have a clear vision of the influence of cinematography, and in particular of the documentary, in the way of narrating history
