La pieza artística-audiovisual Gernika Lemoizen: lugares de memoria en tensión

Abstract

[EN] At the beginning of this century, a lot of disciplines have emphasised the need of reflecting on the embodied subject and the embodied knowledge as well as the need to embody the thought. In this context, a growing interest on dance as a cultural expression in all its manifestations can be noticed, and it has motivated the production of choreographic performances and interventions in the last few years. At the same time, the discourses about the collective memory and the commemorative ceremonies have proliferated in the Iberian Peninsula. The artistic piece introduced in this article, called Gernika Lemoizen [Gernika in Lemoiz] and directed by Irati Gorostidi, responds to that double interest: the concern for the embodiment of the thought and for the (re)construction of the collective memory. In this artistic intervention, both the choreography and the poetry-music merge, as well as three sites of memory from the collective imaginary of Basques meet: the bombing of Gernika, the nuclear plant of Lemoiz and the singer-songwriter Mikel Laboa. This artistic piece relocates those symbols, and boosts questions about the cultural memory, the public / private nature of the sites of memory, and the embodiment of commemorative / remembrance practices.

[ES] A comienzos de este siglo, muchas disciplinas han enfatizado la necesidad de reflexionar sobre el sujeto encarnado y el conocimiento encarnado, y la necesidad de corporeizar el pensamiento. En ese contexto se vislumbra un interés creciente por la danza como expresión cultural  en todas sus manifestaciones , impulsando en estos últimos años la producción de espectáculos coreográficos e intervenciones coreográficas. Al mismo tiempo, en el ámbito peninsular han proliferado los discursos sobre la memoria colectiva y los actos conmemorativos. La pieza artística que se presenta en este artículo, Gernika Lemoizen [Gernika en Lemoiz] dirigida por Irati Gorostidi, responde a ese doble interés actual: la inquietud por la corporeización del pensamiento, y por la (re)construcción de la memoria colectiva vasca. En esta intervención artística además de confluir lo coreográfico y lo poético-musical, se cruzan tres lugares de memoria del imaginario colectivo vasco: el bombardeo de Gernika, la central nuclear de Lemoiz y el cantautor Mikel Laboa. Esta pieza artística relocaliza estos símbolos y activa cuestiones sobre la memoria cultural, sobre el carácter público / privado de los lugares de memoria, y sobre la corporeización de las prácticas conmemorativas / rememorativas.
