Tackling Sexual Violence in Higher Education. reflections and Learnings from the Basque Country

Abstract

The persistence and reproduction of sexual violence in our societies is one of the great challenges that we must face in the search for social justice. On the basis of the experience backed by the Universities Supporting Victims of Sexual Violence (USVreact) project at the University of the Basque Country, in this chapter we reflect on how to tackle sexual violence situations in the university sphere. This text attempts to contribute to thinking about and experiencing university campuses as spaces for social transformations, in which inequalities and the lack of fairness have as little impact as possible upon students and staff alike.
