Abstract

[ES]Nueva interpretación de la inscripción votiva de Couxil (Cartelle, Orense - Hispania Citerior-) tomando en consideración el conjunto del texto y el contexto epigráfico del Noroeste español. La contribución se centra en los problemas de división y restitución de la onomástica y propone una nueva lectura e interpretación, tanto del nombre de la divinidad indígena como del dedicante. La autora pretende alertar sobre el peligro de las valoraciones históricas y linguísticas basadas en un inseguro y único testimonio.

[EN]New interpretation of the votive inscription from Couxil (Cartell, Orense -Hispania Citerior-) taking into account the whole text and the epigraphic context in northwestern Spain. The contribution focuses on the problems of dividing and restoring the names and suggests a new reading for the name of the indigenous deity as well as for the dedicator. The author warns about the risks of historical and linguistic interpretations based on an uncertain and unique epigraphic text
